Chandra's Embercat
Mana dorks that produce colored mana usually get taxed with a restriction on when it enters or a fragile body; this one takes a different toll, gating its output to a narrow slice of the card pool. The red it makes can only pay for Elemental spells or the handful of Chandra planeswalkers, which means it is not a ramp piece so much as a themed accelerant, built to sit in a deck that already agreed to lean on one creature type and one character. That is a deliberately closed loop: the card exists to make a tribal-plus-planeswalker shell one turn faster, not to fuel anything a body producing a generic red would. As a companion piece to a specific Chandra it doubles as a two-mana blocker that can chip in for two, so the mana is a bonus on a creature that still fills a curve slot rather than the whole reason to run it. The design reads as fan service given a job: a Cat elemental that literally accelerates its owner's signature pyromancer, with enough of a body to matter when the ramp does not.
