Cessation

Enchantment — Aura2 generic manaWhite mana

A "can't attack" Aura with a recursion clause, and that return-to-hand trigger is the only thing separating this from the dozens of "can't attack" Auras white has printed since Alpha. The base effect (shutting off a single attacker) was already a known white quantity, but the problem it answers is card disadvantage on removal: kill the enchanted creature and you have traded your Aura away for nothing, netting your opponent value. Here the enchantment comes back when the creature dies or gets bounced, so the white player redeploys it on the next threat. That turns a single answer into a reusable tax, an attrition piece that grinds out a board over several turns rather than trading one-for-one. The price of that recursion is timing: as a sorcery-speed Aura it changes nothing about combat that has already begun, so it cannot serve as a defensive trick, and it leaves the creature free to block and to use activated abilities. The recursion is pure upside; the genuine drawback is how narrow the lock is. A pinned creature still chump-blocks, still taps for mana, still pings or sacrifices, so the Aura only stops the one thing it names. This is white solving the problem of how to make a soft removal effect carry its weight across a long game without simply printing a harder answer: keep the rate cheap, keep the effect narrow, and never let the card die for good.
