Cage of Hands

Most removal removes; this one parks. The enchanted creature stays on the battlefield, keeps its abilities, contributes nothing to combat, and sits there inert until the board changes. The recursion clause is the wrinkle the long line of pacifism effects never had: for a small white investment the Aura bounces back to hand, turning a permanent answer into a reusable one. Relocate the leash onto whatever new threat the opponent commits, paying tempo each time rather than a fresh card. That repeatability also softens the classic Aura two-for-one, though not in the way it looks from the outside. The bounce only works while the Cage is already on the battlefield: if an opponent responds to the cast by killing the target, the Aura is still a spell on the stack, has no legal object to enchant, and fizzles into the graveyard. The clause earns its keep afterward, once the Cage is attached and resolved: rather than eat a removal spell aimed at the leashed creature, you return it to hand for two mana and recast it on the next threat, spending mana instead of losing the card outright. The cost is real in other directions. Against a sacrifice-driven shell, locking down a body without killing it can read as a gift; and if they sacrifice or blink the enchanted creature, the Aura falls off rather than transferring. The strategic question is never whether you can stop one attacker but whether you can keep stopping the most dangerous one, leash in hand, as the threats keep coming.
