Goblin decks were built to race, but every aggressive deck eventually runs into the opponent who untaps with a sweeper and a full grip. This is the answer to that turn: a payoff that ignores power and toughness entirely and instead taxes the opponent for every Goblin that connects, stripping a card from their hand each time one gets through. The body is the joke of the design. A 2/1 Human Cleric is fragile and tribally inert, untouched by the deck's anthems and immune to its own effect, so it contributes nothing to the board it is asking you to commit. It earns its slot only when there is already a swarm to point at the opponent: send in a Goblin Sledder, a Sparksmith, a Skirk Prospector, anything that can slip one point of damage past the blockers, and the discards stack one per attacker. A wide turn can empty a hand outright. The discard is mandatory and falls on whichever player takes the combat damage, so beware that an opposing Goblin connecting will empty your own hand; the reward scales purely with how many bodies break through. The structural idea is that combat damage should cost the defender something beyond life, punishing the connection with disruption rather than reach. Where most beatdown wins by outrunning the opponent's answers, this strategy wins by pulling those answers out of their hand mid-race, and it pays you for going wide, which is the shape a Goblin board already wants.
