Bushmaster, Coiled Henchman

Legendary Creature — Snake Human Villain1 generic manaGreen mana

Deathtouch is usually a defensive keyword, a tax on the opponent's willingness to trade. This turns it into an offensive rider on a mechanic that was never meant to carry it. In a +1/+1 counters deck, growth is the whole plan: you pump, you accumulate, you outscale. What this asks is that every one of those counters double as a threat of mutual destruction, so a board of pumped creatures stops being a race to the biggest number and becomes a wall of pieces the opponent cannot block or be blocked by without losing something. The counter is doing two jobs at once, and the second one costs nothing extra. The body itself is fragile, a 2/1 that dies to almost anything, so the design leans on the anthem being the reason to keep it around rather than the creature being a threat on its own. It slots neatly beside any strategy that scatters counters widely (proliferate shells, populate-adjacent counter engines, the many green decks built around growing a team), where every counter placed on a creature quietly extends deathtouch to it. The interaction that makes it sharp is the one where deathtouch meets trample or multiple blockers: a lethal-damage assignment problem the opponent solves by simply not engaging, which is exactly what a counters deck wants while it keeps stacking.
