Burden of Proof
Most tribal payoffs are one-directional: they reward you for being on-type and shrug at everyone else. This one is a two-sided switch. On a Detective you control, it is a clean flash-in pump aura, +2/+2 at instant speed for two mana. Cast it on anything that fails the test (an opposing blocker, a creature you don't control, a body that simply isn't a Detective) and it inverts into a shrink and a lockout, stamping the target down to 1/1 and forbidding it from blocking your Detectives. That second mode is the interesting design: the aura functions as removal-adjacent tempo without ever leaving the "Detective matters" theme, because the same card that grows your investigators also clears the board they're attacking into. Flash is what makes the punishing half live: you can hold it as a combat trick, ambush an attacker mid-block declaration, or answer a pump spell by collapsing the creature down before damage. The condition is checked continuously, too, so a creature that gains or loses Detective status changes what the aura is doing on the fly. It is a small card built on a genuinely clever pivot, one enchantment that is both the carrot for your tribe and the stick for everyone standing in its way.
