Built to Last

A pump spell with a clause that scales with the board it walks into. The +2/+2 is the floor: a one-mana instant-speed trick any white deck can run, and one nobody builds around. The indestructible rider is the ceiling, and it is not a choice you trade against the pump but a conditional part of the same resolving effect, stacked on top of it. Point this at a creature that happens to be an artifact and it gets bigger while shrugging off the specific removal that combat invites: blockers bounce off the extra size, combat damage stops mattering, and a destroy-based board wipe leaves the attacker standing. What indestructible does not cover is worth naming, because the gaps define the limit of the parry: exile, bounce, sacrifice, and -X/-X all still answer the creature clean, so the protection covers one class of removal, not all of it. Holding the card up at instant speed is where the rider pays off: leave the mana open, let the opponent commit a block or a kill spell, and answer once they have shown their hand. This is a designer hanging a conditional payoff on a card type. Artifact-based aggro builds that pair a pump effect with the indestructible clause get a defensive tool the rest of the white camp does not, while the card never sits dead in hand, because the +2/+2 always resolves regardless of what you point it at. A clean piece of work on the principle that you can reward one archetype without taxing everyone else who casts the card.
