The pitch is density: this is the single densest Scion source in the Eldrazi support cycle, spilling three 1/1s at once where most of its kin managed one or two. What makes the trio worth casting is the color of the mana they release. Cracking a Scion adds specifically, not merely generic filler: colorless mana pays the generic portion of any cost, but it also satisfies the dedicated colorless pips that the largest Eldrazi at the top of the curve demand, and that distinction is the whole reason the effect exists. So one cast delivers three temporary mana sources, three chump blockers, and a 3/3 that lingers after the Scions are spent, all at once. Devoid keeps only the Drone itself colorless rather than green; the tokens are colorless because the triggered ability says so, not because they inherit the keyword. Either way, every permanent this cast produces reads as colorless, which is precisely the board texture an Eldrazi ramp-and-sacrifice shell is built to accumulate. The card demands nothing beyond a payoff that wants bodies and colorless mana arriving together, which is the exact overlap these archetypes are constructed around.
