Briarpack Alpha
Most green combat tricks spend the whole card on the trick: Giant Growth resolves, the buff happens, and there is nothing left on the board. This one folds both halves of the green ambush into a single permanent. Flash a 3/3 onto the battlefield during the declare-blockers step, hand any creature +2/+2 at the exact moment the combat math is being settled, and keep a body once the dust clears. The +2/+2 targeting any creature rather than just the Wolf itself is what turns it into a genuine fight-winner: flash it in as a surprise blocker, pump it to a 5/5, and eat an attacker the opponent committed to a clean trade, or hold it up on your own attack and turn a contested swing into a blowout. That is the difference between a tempo-neutral exchange and walking away a body ahead. The cost is what pays for the doubling-up: green buys instant-speed pump cheaply, but stapling that pump to a flash creature with a free target is worth holding mana open for. The buff being temporary keeps the card honest as a trick: the value lives entirely in the single combat step you choose to flash it into. Misread the window and you have paid four mana for a 3/3 ambush that resolved into nothing useful; read it right and you win a fight green has no business winning at sorcery speed.
