Brazen Freebooter

Creature — Human Pirate3 generic manaRed mana

Strip the Treasure and you have a 3/3 for four, a body well below the curve; the token is the surcharge made tangible, a one-shot rock that fixes any color or ramps you forward a turn. The math is honest, and the enters-the-battlefield trigger is the whole design: unlike pure ramp, the body still has to attack and block, so the card does double duty as pressure now and a held mana option later, with the player deciding when to cash in. That deferred conversion is the point. The Treasure sits on the battlefield ready to enable a color the deck cannot otherwise produce or to buy a turn's worth of acceleration the moment it matters, and until then it is doing nothing but waiting on your decision. As fixing-plus-body stapled together at common, it was built for an aggressive, color-hungry Pirate shell that wanted both a clock and the flexibility to splash. Outside that home it reads as a slow, fair creature: the Treasure is the only thing separating it from filler, and it does that job plainly rather than impressively.
