Brave the Sands

Enchantment1 generic manaWhite mana

The second line touches a corner of combat the game almost never revisits: the assumption that one creature stops one attacker. That rule is so foundational that effects bending it are scarce, and the few that exist (Wall of Souls and its kin) do the bending on a single body rather than across the whole team. Letting every creature you control block a second attacker inverts the math aggression relies on: a board where each blocker can meet two assailants means a wide swing runs into a wall of double-blocks, and the defender chooses which attacker each creature trades with. Those blockers still take damage and still die, so this is not a fog; it is a leverage tool that lets a smaller board answer a bigger one and dictate the trades. Vigilance closes the loop by resolving the tension between offense and defense: the same army holds the line while it pushes back, so a token swarm or a go-wide white deck attacks and defends with one set of bodies. As a static effect that asks for a board already in place, it offers nothing on an empty battlefield and everything on a full one, which is the trade that keeps a two-mana enchantment from warping anything: it amplifies a position you have already earned rather than conjuring one from nothing.
