Braulios of Pheres Band
Land-matters green usually splits its labor across two slots: something to sink the extra lands into, and something to close with them. This centaur collapses both into one attacker whose size tracks the lands you control, so every land pulls double duty as mana and as stats. The reward arrives at declaration of attack rather than on damage: the moment it commits to the red zone, it draws a card and can drop a land from hand, and the size resolves before blocks are locked in. There is no window to gang up on a smaller creature and watch it grow after the fact; the defender is choosing blocks against the already-enlarged body. That timing feeds a loop: swing, refill, deploy the land, swing bigger. The reward structure favors a hand stuffed with lands, exactly the resource ramp shells accumulate, and it converts flooding (normally dead cardboard) into card advantage and board presence in a single attack. The lineage runs through green's long tradition of mana-scaling beaters and land payoffs, but earlier designs kept the ramp engine and the finisher as separate cards; this fuses them. The price of keying size entirely to lands is fragility: a sweeper or a mass bounce leaves nothing behind, and there is no evasion to force damage through. The card off the attack is guaranteed. Connecting is not.
