Artifact Creature — Construct3 generic mana

Cards have always been able to cycle themselves, but the framing here is deliberately physical: a body that sits on the battlefield, blocks once, and then converts itself into a card whenever you have the spare mana and no better use for it. The 2 generic mana sacrifice cost is what makes the trade feel paid-for rather than free. You are not refunding the artifact for nothing; you are spending a real tax to turn a stalled creature back into gas, and those two extra mana mean the cantrip happens on a turn when the body has already done its work or never mattered. That gap (creature first, card second) is what separates this from the run of pure cantrips printed in its era. It wants to be deployed early and cashed in late, which gives it a quiet flexibility a sorcery-speed draw spell cannot match: it occupies a board slot the whole time it waits. As a Construct it slots into artifact-matters shells where it doubles as a sacrifice target, an attacker that costs nothing to lose, and a card you never feel bad drawing into a flood. The design is unglamorous on purpose. It is a creature that politely excuses itself the moment you would rather have drawn a land.
