Two mana buys the artifact; six more buys the demolition, for a total of eight mana before a single permanent leaves the battlefield. That gap between the deposit and the payoff is the whole design here: a Vindicate on layaway, a colorless permanent that sits in play advertising a triple destruction it cannot afford to deliver right away, and can only ever deliver once. The three-target spread (an artifact, a creature, a land, each optional) makes it a wide answer rather than a focused one, the kind of tool that wants to catch a board where three separate problems have accumulated. What pays for that ceiling is the cost stack: six mana on activation is a full turn's worth of investment, and the sacrifice clause means the artifact consumes itself to fire. You get the three-for-one exactly once, then the engine is gone with it. Rock destruction has always lived on this axis, trading raw efficiency for reach: the cheaper the removal, the narrower its scope, and this sits at the far end where the scope is wide and the price is brutal. It rewards a deck that can afford to park a colorless permanent for the long game, absorb the telegraph, and cash it in only when the table has finally offered enough targets to make the wait worth the card.
