A one-drop attacker built to convert tempo into cards, and the trick is that the conversion is deferred. Every swing banks a card face down, sight unseen, so the deck never knows what it has stored, only how much. That uncertainty is the design tension: you are filling a hidden reservoir while emptying your hand, and the payoff demands you spend the rest of that hand first. The activation discards everything you hold, sacrifices the body, and hands back the entire exiled pile, which means the courier is at its best in decks that want to be empty anyway: low-curve aggressive shells that have already dumped their gas onto the board and need to refuel before they run dry. It is a self-contained burst-draw engine that doubles as a clock, and the discount on the refill (a single red to flush the whole stack) is paid for by the all-or-nothing structure: you cannot bank a few cards and cash in just those, and you cannot keep the creature once you pull the trigger. It rewards committing to the plan rather than hedging, which is why it found a home in the most disciplined go-wide and burn-leaning red strategies rather than midrange decks that want to hold cards. Haste is doing quiet structural work here: the courier wants to start banking the turn it lands, because every attack it misses is a card the reservoir never sees.
