Boltfire

SorceryRed mana

Flashforward inverts the logic of flashback. Flashback buys a discounted second cast out of the graveyard, then exiles the card for good; flashforward charges a steep premium to cast from exile, then reloads the card onto the bottom of your library rather than removing it permanently. The catch, and the crux of the design, is where the card has to be for the back half to matter: a normal cast sends this to the graveyard, not exile, so the flashforward cost sits dead unless some other effect has already banked the card in exile first. This is not a spell that recurs itself. It is a one-mana, two-damage bolt (priced a notch under the three-damage benchmark red removal is measured against) that carries a latent second life you can only unlock by routing it through exile, whether via impulse-draw effects, exile-based tutors, or cards that stash spells there for later. The pricing on that reload is deliberately punishing: at five mana it is a poor rate for two damage, so it never becomes a free value loop, and dropping the card to the bottom of the library instead of the hand keeps it from stacking into a repeatable engine. The mechanic reads as red's exile-flavored counterpart to the graveyard-recursion spells other colors lean on, with the payoff gated so the slot is worth drawing twice only when a deck is deliberately built to send it into exile.
