This is that conversion turned into a fixture: a body that performs the same trade every turn, charging a discarded card and one black mana for three black back. The Spellshaper subtype is the housing for the idea, bottling a ritual effect inside a creature so the engine can be reused rather than cast and discarded. The math is honest about what it costs. You pay one black up front, so this is not free acceleration but a converter: it trades a card in hand and a small black investment for a concentrated lump of a single color, the kind you dump into one expensive black spell or a chain of cheaper ones. The net only favors you when the pitched card is worth less than two black mana and the ongoing access to repeat the trade. What lifts it above a strict Dark Ritual is that the discard stops being pure loss the moment your deck wants cards in the graveyard: reanimation targets, threshold counts, flashback fuel all reframe the cost as setup. The combat stats are an afterthought; this is a tool that sits and asks to be activated rather than a creature you cast to attack. Its entire value lives in how badly the deck around it wants to empty its hand for black mana.
