Infect's foot soldier, and the rare poison creature that asks to stay on the battlefield rather than trade. Most infect threats are built to attack once and die having dumped their counters; this one comes with a regeneration shield it can crank turn after turn, which turns a fragile 1/1 into something a block-and-burn defense struggles to clear. The strategic axis it shifts is patience: each combat step it survives is another increment of poison or another set of -1/-1 counters chipped off an opposing creature, and the regeneration means a chump block does not kill it, a one-toughness ping does not kill it, and it takes exile, a -1/-1 wipe, or removal that ignores regeneration to put it away for good. Pairing the regeneration with infect's death-by-attrition clock is the whole design idea: it is a creature that wants to grind, in a mechanic usually built to race. The cost of all that resilience is the body itself. One power means one poison per swing absent help, so it is the slow lane of a fast kill condition, the threat you lean on when the explosive draws have already been answered. It rewards the kind of infect deck that treats ten poison as a long math problem rather than a single alpha strike, and it is durable enough to keep solving that problem after everything flashier has been removed.
