Blast-Furnace Hellkite
Offering is the mechanic that turns a nine-mana dragon into a serviceable ambush. The keyword lets you cast this by sacrificing an artifact and paying only the difference in cost, which means a beefy artifact on the table is really a stored discount and a flash enabler at once: convert a mana rock or an idle equipment into a flying double-striker at instant speed, catching an unguarded attacker or crashing in after blockers are declared. That flash window is the whole reason the top-heavy price tag is tolerable, because paying the full seven-plus-two upfront on a five-power body would rarely be worth it. What makes it more than a big flyer is the anthem tacked to its own aggression: every creature attacking your opponents gets double strike, so the dragon rewards a wide, attacking board rather than sitting back as a lone threat. It stacks its own doubled damage on top of a squad that suddenly all hit twice, which reframes a stalled ground stall into a lethal alpha swing. Offering was an older tribal-flavored keyword revived here to give the Dragon a legitimate reason to arrive on the opponent's turn, and the design leans on that timing: it is built to appear the moment the offense wants to snowball, not to plod out as a curve-topper.
