Black Widow, Natasha Romanoff
A vanilla 2/2 for wearing a legendary Human Assassin Hero type line and nothing else, which is the whole design statement. The gap between the fantasy the name promises and what the card delivers is the story: no burst, no disruption, no evasion, just a body and a stack of relevant creature types. Red's cheap legends usually earn their slot with haste, direct damage, or a triggered aggression clause, so a two-drop red legend whose entire text box is its creature types is a plain choice, not a subtle one. The stats are kept deliberately generic so the frame can anchor a tribal or hero-matters build without warping a curve or demanding the protection a fragile engine piece would need. The Assassin and Hero subtypes are the payoff hooks; the espionage flavor lives in the type line rather than in any printed ability. There is nothing to sequence around, no snowball to race, and no ability to shield: the evaluation reduces to whether a two-mana body and its subtypes are worth building toward, or whether the same tags are better attached to something that also does work. It names its own job by omission, and that omission is the design.
