Rakdos spellslinger has always wanted a payoff that hits the opponent's face without needing a combat step, and this one solves the reach problem from an unexpected angle: the noncreature-spell trigger fires two damage at each opponent per cast, turning a hand of cheap burn, cantrips, and rituals into a clock that ignores blockers entirely. Because it keys on casting rather than resolution, the damage lands even when the spell itself gets countered or fizzles, which quietly punishes an opponent's instinct to hold up interaction; by the time their answer is on the stack, the two has already gone through. A single turn of chaining instants and sorceries can close a game the board state says you should be losing. The 2/2 flying, deathtouch body is a functional nuisance that trades up against anything and pressures planeswalkers, but the creature is almost beside the point: it exists mostly to survive a turn so the engine underneath it can keep ticking. The interesting tension is that payoff and enabler pull the same lever. The more of your deck is noncreature spells, the harder each cast lands, but the leaner your creature count, the more this lone Wizard has to carry the aggression until the spells arrive. It rewards a build that treats direct damage as a byproduct of the cheap interaction and card selection it was already running, not a plan you have to assemble from scratch.
