The hybrid mana is the design statement: three pips that each accept either green or blue, declaring the spell wants Simic without demanding exactly two colors. That flexibility lets it live in a midrange green deck with the lightest blue splash, or a control shell that only needs one Forest. But the payload is where the targeting gets interesting, because the two clauses both point at "target player," and neither is required to be you. Cast in a one-on-one game it functions as a mirror, drawing for both boards. Cast into a multiplayer field, the smart line names two opponents and leaves your own board out of it entirely: their creatures fund your hand, and your commitment never enters the math. That is the genuinely unusual part. Most green-blue card-advantage payoffs scale off your own development; this one can ignore your side completely and turn the table's collective sprawl into a refill that costs them nothing to enable and you nothing to maintain. The seven total mana is the honest price: a draw spell that does nothing if the chosen players have developed nothing, so it asks you to wait until the field is invested before you cash in. The bargain is patience for asymmetry. Hold it through the lean early turns, let two opponents overextend, then convert the parts of the board you do not own into the largest hand at the table.
