Bilbo, Luckwearer // Burglar's Plot

Legendary Creature — Halfling Rogue // Sorcery — Adventure1 generic manaBlue mana4 generic manaBlue mana

The Adventure structure earns its place here more than on most cards, because the two halves are two entirely different acts of thievery. The creature side is a small unblockable body that turns each connection into a loot: draw one, discard one, a modest loot that keeps the hand fresh while it chips away. The Adventure side, Burglar's Plot, is the heist proper: a symmetrical swap of two nonland permanents that share a card type, one of yours and one of theirs, or even two of your opponents' against each other. That shared-type clause is the whole tension. It is not a Control Magic that grabs the best thing on the board; it is a barter that demands you find a trade you come out ahead on, matching creature to creature or artifact to artifact and hoping the exchange favors you. Cast the Plot first for the tempo swing, then the flavor-perfect payoff: Bilbo slips out of exile later as a 1/1 who cannot be blocked, quietly setting up the looting engine after the theft is done. The card fee for the loot and the type-matching constraint on the swap are what keep both halves honest; neither line is free, and the sequencing (steal now, deploy the burglar later) mirrors the story it is named for as cleanly as any Adventure card manages.

Bilbo can't be blocked. Whenever Bilbo deals combat damage to a player, draw a card, then discard a card. // Exchange control of two target nonland permanents that share a card type. (Then exile this card. You may cast the creature later from exile.)
