Bifurcate

The trick lives in the word "name." You point at a nontoken creature already on the battlefield, then search out an identically named permanent card and put it directly into play, no casting cost paid. That makes the target almost incidental: it functions as a search key, not as a thing to be duplicated. This works on a different axis than the Clone lineage, which becomes a copy of the printed card it points at, fresh and ignoring any counters, auras, or damage on the original. Bifurcate never copies anything; it fetches the actual second printing from your library, which arrives clean by definition, with none of the targeted creature's accumulated history. Aim it at an opponent's threat and you pull that creature's twin to your side, provided you happen to be running the same card; aim it at your own and a lone name becomes a pair. A second copy of a legend drags the legend rule into the math, a hazard the card cheerfully invites. The double requirement is what pays for the free entry: you need a matching name already on the battlefield and another copy waiting in the deck, which steers you toward a shell stacked with redundant nonlegendary permanents rather than a spread of singletons. A green tutor that only finds what you already own, indexed by name.
