White has always been the color least equipped to refuel, so the reward stapled to this Elf is doing real color-pie work: turning any turn where you produce a token into a fresh card at the end step. The gate is deliberately soft on kind and source, but firm on ownership. The trigger fires on tokens of any type, made by any effect (a Servo, a Treasure, a copy, a populate), and asks only that at least one appear before that end step, not that you build a dedicated token engine. What it will not do is reward you for your opponents' tokens: the ability checks at each end step, but the condition is that you created a token this turn, so a rival's populate or Saproling swarm hands you nothing. That end-step-of-every-turn wording still matters, because it means an instant-speed token maker on someone else's turn (say, a flash blink or a Smothering Tithe trigger) can draw you a card outside your own turn cycle. Convoke is the quiet accelerant that lands it ahead of curve, letting a developed board tap in to deploy the payoff a turn early rather than paying the full four. The balancing act is entirely in the body: a 3/2 that dies to almost any spot removal or a stray attacker, a soft engine you have to shelter while it does the one thing white historically cannot.
