Beacon of Destiny

Creature — Human Cleric1 generic manaWhite mana

A redirection effect attached to a body, which is a stranger thing than it sounds. Damage prevention and redirection have a long tradition in white, but they usually live on instants and enchantments; here the redirect engine is a tappable Cleric you have to deploy, defend, and keep alive turn over turn. The 1/3 frame matters precisely because it has to absorb the punishment it volunteers for: tap it, point it at the burn spell or the alpha-striking attacker aimed at your face, and the damage lands on three toughness instead of your life total. It buys one redirect per turn from one chosen source, so it shaves a single blow rather than building a fog. That narrowness is the cost of stapling the effect to a permanent: an enchantment doing the same job would soak everything, but this asks you to pick the threat that matters and live with the rest. The design reads as an attempt to make damage redirection something you commit to the board rather than hold in hand, a creature whose toughness becomes a renewable shield you spend each turn to keep your life total whole. It rewards a defensive deck willing to babysit one fragile blocker, the kind of value engine that only pays off if it survives the turn it most needs to fire.
