Ninjutsu was always a protection mechanic wearing tempo clothing: bouncing your unblocked attacker back to hand yanks it out of combat, then drops in a fresh threat at instant speed after blocks have been declared. This Ninja extends that dodge to a second body. Its enters-trigger hands indestructible to a creature you control for the turn, and the timing is everything, because ninjutsu resolves during the declare-blockers step, once your opponent has already committed. You get to read the blocks before choosing which creature becomes unkillable: rescue an attacker that got baited into a bad block, walk a threat through a later damage-based sweeper, or shrug off a targeted kill spell. The Ninja itself always arrives unblocked (that is the toll ninjutsu charges), so it is not the one needing the shield; the indestructible is a gift you can route anywhere on your board. Black rarely hands out indestructible protection, work usually left to white and green, and here it does so funneled through the sneak-attack logic ninjutsu was built on. The 3/3 body for a ninjutsu cost of is a fair rate on its own, but the reason to reach for it over a plain beater is the window it opens: it turns a routine combat swap into a moment where your chosen attacker cannot die, decided with full information after blocks are on the table.
