Atraxa's Skitterfang

The design idea is a metered upside: instead of a static evergreen keyword or a single enters trigger, this body arrives with a fixed budget of three charges and spends them one combat at a time. The grant is genuinely modal, and the choice recalculates every turn: flying to push damage over a clogged ground, vigilance to swing without tapping out of blockers, deathtouch to turn a small attacker into a trade threat, lifelink to buy back life while you race. Because the trigger fires at the beginning of combat on your turn, you read the board before committing, and you can point the buff at a different creature each time. The counter economy is what balances it: this is a resource that depletes rather than a permanent engine, so the card is a burst of three keyword grants that decays back into a plain 2/2 artifact body once the oil runs dry. That decay is precisely what puts it in the orbit of proliferate: anything that adds oil counters back refills the budget and converts a three-shot into something closer to recurring. On its own it is a modest attacker with a clock on its usefulness; the interesting axis is how long you can make that clock run before it reverts to a plain 2/2.
