Archaeomancer for red, with the fragility that trade implies. The mono-blue original bought its spell recursion with a wall-thin defensive body meant to hold the ground, an engine that wanted to stay home; here the return-a-spell-on-entry template gets stapled to an attacker instead, a creature that would rather be poking in than blocking. That single swap reframes the whole card: red does not want its value engine standing still, so the design pushes the recur toward proactive spells, the burn and the rituals and the cantrips that keep an aggressive plan moving, rather than the reactive counterspell loops the blue version fed. It is single-use by construction: one entry, one return, and nothing on the card to loop itself without an outside blink or bounce effect, which is where the real ambition lives (reset the trigger and the spell count climbs). One toughness means the return has to earn its keep before the body eats an inevitable ping, since any incidental damage erases the creature before it swings once. Underneath sits a color-pie experiment: taking a distinctly Izzet-flavored effect, graveyard-to-hand spell recursion, and asking whether mono-red can carry it alone. The answer is a body too flimsy to guard the engine paired with an effect that begs to be looped, a tension the card never resolves on its own.
