Seven mana for a 5/5 with reach and trample states the rate problem plainly: this is a body priced for an earlier decade than the one its keywords belong to. Reach and trample together form a coherent profile (it walls fliers indefinitely and pushes damage through ground stalls), but neither keyword is scarce enough to justify a seven-mana outlay, and the printed stat line offers nothing past combat to recoup the tempo you spend casting it. The Spider tribe is the only context in which the cost reads as something other than a tax: as a top-end body in a deck built around reach creatures, it caps a curve and patrols the sky. Outside that frame, it is a creature with a clear job and an unforgiving asking price, the kind of design that arrives a few mana late on a body that would have read as reasonable in the game's early years and reads as overcosted in any era that learned to demand more from its seven-drops.
