Ant-Man, Scott Lang

Legendary Creature — Human Hero1 generic manaWhite mana

A 2/2 for two whose only button costs four mana to drop a single +1/+1 counter: on paper that math never balances, and it is not supposed to. The joke is the point. Scott Lang shrinks and grows on command in his source material, and the design renders "grow" as the steepest pump the game offers, a mana sink so heavy that pressing it repeatedly means doing almost nothing else that turn. That reads as flavor gag first and combat threat second, which is exactly the register the card is pitched at. The accumulation does have a real use as a proliferate target: any effect that seeds counters onto your board treats this as a body worth feeding, and the four-mana ability becomes a backstop for turns with excess mana and nothing better to spend it on. But the steepness means the card lives or dies on what surrounds it. Alone, it is a two-drop with an ability you will rarely activate. Slotted next to counter-doublers and proliferate engines, it becomes a slow-motion threat that keeps scaling without asking for a second card. The design leans entirely on that context, trusting the deck around it to supply the efficiency the ability itself withholds.
