Angler Drake

Bounce on a body is one of tempo's oldest deals, and this is the workmanlike top-end version of it: pay six, get a 4/4 flier and a Man-o'-War trigger that returns the most threatening creature across the table to its owner's hand. The math is deliberately unglamorous. Six mana for four power in the air is below the curve on raw stats, so the enters-the-battlefield bounce is doing the heavy lifting, buying a turn against a problem creature while leaving a clock overhead. The "may" on the trigger is the quiet part that matters: it lets you decline when there is no worthwhile target, so the card never becomes a liability the way a forced return can, and in a pinch you can point it at one of your own creatures to reset and reuse an enters-the-battlefield ability of your own. It also bounces rather than destroys, which is what makes it a clean answer to indestructible threats and gods that shrug off removal: you are spending tempo, not gaining permanent card advantage, and the target lands right back in a hand rather than a graveyard. In a blink or self-bounce shell the trigger stops being a one-time swing and starts compounding, returning a creature every time the Drake re-enters. On its own it is a curve-topper for a tempo deck that wants its expensive spell to also affect the board: a flexible answer stapled to an evasive threat, sized for the part of the game where six mana is finally affordable.
