Angel of Glory's Rise
The enters trigger picks a side in the plane's living-versus-dead conflict and resolves it in one cast: every Zombie on the battlefield is exiled, no controller exempt and no death triggers handed out, while every Human creature card in your own graveyard returns to play. The asymmetry is the whole design. A conventional tribal payoff scales with the bodies you already have in play; this one ignores your board entirely and reads only your graveyard, rewarding the Humans you have already lost rather than the ones still standing. That makes the seven-mana cost a wager on attrition: the spell wants a yard worth raising before it earns its price, and against an empty graveyard and a Zombie-free board it is a 4/6 flier and nothing more. The two clauses do separate jobs. As the Human deck digging out of an attrition slog, it is a flying body stapled to a mass reanimation of everything that died, refilling a board that has been ground away. Against a Zombie deck, the exile clause is what matters: it removes their entire tribe at once and sidesteps the recursion those decks are built to abuse, since exile leaves nothing to bring back. The cost and the dependency on dead Humans are the leashes on a board that would otherwise reset for free. It belongs to a tradition of designs that write a faction war directly into the rules text, taking a partisan stance instead of staying neutral, and that narrowness is exactly what lets it land when the matchup obliges.
