Ancestor Dragon

Creature — Dragon4 generic manaWhite manaWhite mana

White has always been the color that turns attacking into lifegain, and this Dragon prices that promise at a scale most go-wide decks can reach. The lifegain isn't per point of damage or per swing; it counts bodies, so the reward grows with the width of your board rather than the size of any single attacker. That structure quietly rewards the token-flood and swarm builds white already wants to assemble: a five-attacker turn buys five life on top of whatever the combat itself accomplishes, and the more anthem effects you stack, the further ahead the ledger runs. As a 5/6 flier it also participates in its own trigger, and its toughness lets it sit in blocking duty on the turns you don't crash in, which matters for a card meant to stabilize an aggressive board rather than race off it. The gain is capped by how many creatures you can keep alive and swinging, which is the honest tension in a design like this: the payoff scales with commitment to the battlefield, and a board wipe erases both the attackers and the engine that fed off them. It is the kind of top-end white leans on when the plan is to widen, attack, and outlast, converting the combat step itself into a cushion rather than asking a separate spell to do it.
