Anathemancer

A punishment card aimed at a very specific target: the greedy manabase. The damage scales with nonbasic lands, so it hits hardest against exactly the decks that lean on fetchlands, dual lands, and utility lands to do everything at once, and it does nothing to an opponent running basics. That conditionality is the price of the effect; against the right deck the body is incidental and the enters-the-battlefield trigger is a burn spell that read the opponent's land count off the table. What turns a one-shot punisher into a recurring clock is the unearth cost. The graveyard relaunch lets the trigger fire a second time for a hasty attacker, and because unearth exiles the creature at end of turn rather than asking it to stay, it sidesteps the usual cost of recursion: you are buying the enters-the-battlefield damage again, not a permanent. The whole engine is reactive by design. In a field of basic-heavy decks it is a dead 2/2; in a field that has decided fixing and utility are worth the life, it scales with the opponent's own ambition. That is the wrinkle worth respecting: the card asks you to read the metagame's manabases before you read its threats, and it rewards you for noticing when everyone has quietly traded their basics away for a smoother mana curve.
