Creature — KithkinWhite manaWhite mana

Evasion by power threshold, priced at the most restrictive two-mana cost a one-power body could carry. Rather than grant an evergreen keyword like flying or shadow, the card draws a line at three power and tells everything above it to stand down. This was a structural answer to the mid-combat math of early Magic, where the threats that actually mattered (Serra Angel, Shivan Dragon, the fat that closed games) sat at three power or more. Against those, a 1/1 walks in unopposed; against a wall of 2/2s and 1/1 weenies, it is held at the gate. Demanding two white pips at a time when the color's mana base offered little help is what keeps the evasion honest, locking the card into mono-white shells. Functional descendants are easier to find than ancestors: a long line of "can't be blocked by creatures with power X or greater" riders that Wizards has revisited whenever they want evasion that scales inversely with the opponent's board. The Kithkin tribe itself would not get serious mechanical support for another decade-plus, which leaves this printing as a curiosity: a tribal name attached to a creature whose tribe did not yet exist as a design concept.
