Ambitious Assault
Overrun effects have always paid for their swing in narrowness: they want a wide board and give nothing back if the alpha strike stalls. This one attaches a rider to a mechanic that solves both problems at once. The +2/+0 is modest by team-pump standards, but the modified check turns a combat trick into a cantrip in any deck already running Equipment, Auras, or counters, and those decks tend to want exactly this kind of instant-speed push. The payoff structure is the interesting part: the pump helps a small board of buffed-up threats punch through, and a board with even one modified creature is the board state that earns the card. It rarely trades down. Cast at the wrong moment it is still a swing spell that replaces itself, and cast at the right moment it closes the game while restocking the hand. That is the trade a modified-matters deck is built to make, and this card is the reward tuned specifically for it: reactive at instant speed, and self-sustaining in a way that older team-pump spells never managed to be.
