Alter Reality

Color-hosing aimed at the rules text rather than the board: instead of countering a spell or destroying a permanent, this rewrites a single color word on an object, swapping "white" for "black" or "red" for "blue" everywhere that word appears within that object's text. The applications are narrow and exact. Edit a protection-from-blue creature so its keyword reads protection from some other color, and your blue creatures can suddenly block or target it legally. Catch a spell whose own text restricts it to a particular color (a "destroy target white creature" effect, say) and rewrite the spell's color word so the creature it was aimed at no longer qualifies, leaving the spell with no legal target and countered by the game rules. Flip the color a Circle of Protection names so the shield it has been holding stops applying to the damage actually coming in. The crucial limit is that this changes text, not a creature's actual color: it cannot recolor a permanent to dodge a targeting requirement unless that requirement is itself written into a color word it can reach. The edit lasts indefinitely, so a rewrite of a permanent holds permanent through every later turn. Flashback is the genuine wrinkle: a text-rewrite trick is exactly the kind of answer worth holding for the right window, and the graveyard recast means a hosing spell spent early, or a permanent an opponent edits back to safety, can be reapplied for the same blue mana. Hyper-conditional, inert where color words carry no weight, surgical where they do.
