Alpine Meadow

Snow Land — Mountain Plains

The dual land's most quietly consequential design choice is the one printed at the bottom: it enters tapped, always, no conditions to satisfy or fetch-cracking to unlock. That flat tempo tax is the price of admission for a whole family of tapped duals, the descendants of the original taplands that traded a turn's speed for painless, unconditional fixing. What distinguishes this one is the supertype: being a Snow permanent turns the land itself into a resource, feeding cards that count snow mana or reward snow permanents on the battlefield. It also carries both basic land types, Mountain and Plains, which is a bigger deal than the fixing suggests: fetch effects that search for a Mountain or a Plains can grab it, and any card that cares about basic land types reads it as both. So the card sits at an intersection that the plain-tapland lineage never reached: fixing, snow-matters payoff, and basic-type compatibility bundled into a source that costs nothing to play. The tapped clause keeps it honest against decks that want their mana untapped on turn one, which is exactly why this design gets to hand out two colors and a keyword-adjacent supertype without further restriction.
