All That Glitters

Ethereal Armor traded on the same insight one card type at a time: an Aura whose scaling is paid for by the permanents already sitting on your battlefield, not by the mana you invest. Where Ethereal Armor counts enchantments alone, this widens the count to include artifacts, which is what turns it from a devotion-style bonus into a payoff for the whole artifacts-and-enchantments board. Every artifact and enchantment you control feeds the count, artifact creatures and enchantment creatures included, so a Servo token, an Equipment, and a bear that happens to be an enchantment all add the same +1/+1. It counts itself: an Aura is an enchantment you control, so the floor is +1/+1 and every additional permanent already in play stacks another full point. The math reads its own board rather than the target, so the second copy on a developed board can be a bigger swing than the first. That steepness is also the constraint. Because the bonus is a static buff derived from board state, it evaporates the instant the board thins: a single removal spell aimed at the enchanted creature answers both cards at once and cashes your whole investment for one, and a sweeper that clears your other permanents shrinks the surviving buff in real time. The card asks you to build wide on cheap permanents that make it lethal before you cast it, then to accept that a well-timed answer undoes the plan.
