Akki Blizzard-Herder

Creature — Goblin Shaman1 generic manaRed mana

Land destruction usually costs real mana and points at a specific player; here it costs nothing but a goblin's life and hits everyone, controller included. The death trigger is a forced symmetrical land sacrifice, which turns the whole card into a question of who can least afford the trade. A deck running few lands, or one whose plan does not lean on a fragile manabase, breaks the symmetry by simply caring less about losing a land than the opponent does. That places it in the small family of red effects that convert an expendable body into resource denial: chump-block or trade in combat, then strip a land from the table on the way out. The friction is that the opponent chooses which land to sacrifice, so you never blow up the specific one you wanted gone, only thin the count. And the effect is a one-shot tied to this creature alone: once the goblin dies, the trigger is spent, so the value is front-loaded into a single moment rather than a repeatable engine. It reads less like a creature and more like a delayed land-destruction spell stapled to chaff, the kind of small-body, big-death design the Goblin Shaman line leaned into early on. The whole reason it exists is to ask a deckbuilder to skew the symmetry before the goblin ever dies; do that, and a two-mana 1/1 walks an extra land off the opposing battlefield as it leaves play.
