Adorned Crocodile
Renew is the mechanic that turns a dead body into deferred value, and this Crocodile is built to spend twice. The 5/3 body trades a point of durability for a fifth power that wants to attack, and the fragile toughness is the point: it dies, and dying is the first payoff. The death trigger leaves a 2/2 Zombie Druid behind, so the card that fell over is still worth a chump block or a sacrifice fodder body two-for-one. Then the corpse itself becomes ammunition. The renew clause exiles the Crocodile from the graveyard to grow another creature by one, a sorcery-speed act that closes the loop on a card most decks would treat as spent. Two attackers and a permanent counter out of a single five-drop is the arithmetic renew is designed around: value that arrives in installments rather than up front, paid for by the cheap black mana on the back end and the sorcery-speed restriction that keeps it off the combat step. It is a plain expression of what the mechanic wants creatures to do, which is refuse to be finished when they hit the graveyard.
