Acrobatic Leap

InstantWhite mana

The untap clause is the tell that this was never really a pump spell. Combat tricks buy toughness to survive a block or power to win one; this one hands you a defender back on the same mana. Cast it on your attacker after blocks are declared and the +1/+3 with flying resolves the exchange, while the untap leaves the creature standing to guard your turn. The flying still matters on its own terms: it lets an attacker slip past ground blockers before combat is joined, or lets a grounded blocker reach something in the air on the crackback. But the design intent lives in that final word. Untapping a tapped creature at instant speed is an effect most tricks do not offer, and it opens doors outside combat math entirely: reset a creature with a tap ability for a second activation, spring a blocker you had already committed to attacking, or refuse to let an alpha strike walk your board into an unfavorable race. The three toughness is deliberately the largest number here, tilting the card toward absorbing a blow rather than delivering the killing one. It reads as a trick and plays as a tempo-and-utility instant, the kind of one-mana white effect built to be held up rather than jammed, where the value comes from the second job the card does after the combat step is over.
