Academy Manufactor
A replacement effect masquerading as a token generator, and a genuinely unusual one: the creature makes nothing when it enters, but it rewrites what every Clue, Food, or Treasure source in the deck delivers. A single Clue arrives as a Clue plus a Food plus a Treasure, so each artifact-token source triples across three unrelated resource lines at once: the ramp of a Treasure, the lifegain of a Food, and the card advantage of investigating a Clue. That is the axis worth noticing. It converts breadth into depth, turning cards that each fed one narrow resource into cards that feed three engines simultaneously, and its ceiling climbs with the number of token-makers you stack in front of it, not with any explosive single turn. The 1/3 Assembly-Worker body is incidental; this is a static piece whose payoff is drawn by whatever else you assemble around it. It compounds further with anything that later doubles or copies token creation, since those multipliers act on output that has already been tripled: a doubler downstream sees three tokens where it would otherwise have seen one. That interplay between the replacement effect and other token-scaling effects explains how a modest artifact with no combat relevance became a real build-around. Its entire function is to reshape what your other cards do, and the more token generation you pack around it, the more disproportionate the return.
