Abyssal Persecutor

Creature — Demon2 generic manaBlack manaBlack mana

Six power of flying trample for four mana with no upside requirement, only a downside: a body undercosted on purpose, sold to you with a curse stapled on. The rate is the bait. A 6/6 evasive beater on turn four ends games fast, and the design dares you to outrace your own win condition. The genius of the drawback is that it doesn't soften the clock, it inverts your goal: while the Persecutor is on the battlefield, your opponent can sit at zero or negative life indefinitely and you cannot collect. So the card builds an entire micro-game around its own removal. You commit to beating them down, you push them to lethal, and then you have to answer your own threat: bounce it, sacrifice it, kill it, blink it, give it away. That turns ordinary removal into a finishing move and makes effects that would normally be liabilities (edict-style sacrifice, your own burn pointed at your demon) into the trigger that lets the game end. It also reads cleanly off the stack: the instant the Persecutor leaves, the locked win and loss states release, so the timing window is yours to choose. A 6/6 flyer for four with no strings would have been a power-creep footnote; the curse is what made it a puzzle, and the puzzle is the reason the card is remembered.
