Copying an activated or triggered ability is not new; Rings of Brighthearth and Illusionist's Bracers have doubled activations for years, and Strionic Resonator does the same for triggers. What sets this apart is the source restriction, and it is a strange one: the ability must come from a colorless source you control. That single word reshapes the whole deckbuilding problem. Colored permanents are out; the payload has to come from Eldrazi, artifacts, colorless lands, and the growing stack of colorless legends and manlands whose abilities do real work. The design fences out the obvious abuse, too, since mana abilities can't be targeted, keeping this from becoming a mana-doubling engine and pointing it instead at the interesting stuff: an Eldrazi's cast trigger, an artifact's tap-for-value ability, a colorless commander's attack trigger. The reward for building narrow is that everything colorless in the deck suddenly has a second barrel, once per activation for a single generic mana plus the tap. The body is where the copy cost gets paid: vigilance lets the 3/4 attack and still stay untapped, so the , to fork an ability remains available on a turn it has already committed to combat. This pays out only if you honor the colorless-source constraint from the first card of the deck, an engine-forward, commit-early payoff that this slot in the color pie has always wanted to reward.
