Aarakocra Sneak
The initiative was Baldur's Gate's answer to the monarch: a positional resource that hands you an incremental engine (the Undercity dungeon) and passes to whoever deals combat damage to its holder. Most of the creatures that grant it are ground-bound bodies you have to protect, which is exactly why a flier with a 1/4 back is the shape that matters. Four toughness clears the small-creature ping range that would otherwise steal the initiative back through the air, and evasion means the holder can keep chipping in the dungeon while the ground stalls. The 1 power is deliberate: this is not a clock, it is a keeper. You want the initiative to stick, and a body that trades poorly on offense but blocks and survives is precisely the profile for holding a resource that changes hands on combat damage. The design reads as the aerial complement to the walker-and-blocker initiative creatures, filling the one axis (the sky) where a grounded initiative deck is most vulnerable to losing what it just gained.
