A-Warm Welcome

Sorcery3 generic manaGreen mana

The paper printing dug five cards deep for a creature and stopped there, which asked four mana to buy card selection with a built-in whiff clause: reveal a creature or reveal nothing. The rebalanced version keeps that gamble intact (the dig stays conditional, and the rejects go to the bottom in random order) but staples two 1/1 green-and-white Citizen tokens onto the effect regardless of what the top five holds. That is the whole adjustment, and it changes the card's center of gravity. The tokens are a guaranteed floor: they keep the spell from being a dead draw when the dig comes up empty, so you are no longer paying full price for selection alone. The dig, in turn, keeps the token-maker from being a flat two-body rate. Each half balances the other. What emerges is a different card than the one that shipped under the same name: less a spell you cast to find a creature, more a token generator that occasionally hands you a bonus card off the top. It is a precise piece of digital-only tuning, the kind of correction paper can never make once a rate is printed and locked forever. The rebalance framework exists specifically to enable this sort of surgery, and the two Citizens are exactly the small, load-bearing addition that turns an underweight dig into a spell worth its cost.
