A-Lier, Disciple of the Drowned

Legendary Creature — Human Wizard3 generic manaBlue manaBlue mana

The graveyard-as-hand fantasy has been chased for years, usually with hard limits: Snapcaster Mage gives one spell one recast at instant speed; Yawgmoth's Will empties the yard for a single turn before dumping it all into exile. This takes a wider swing. On your own turn, every instant and sorcery sitting in your graveyard gains flashback at its full mana cost, no exile-and-tax markup on the way in. The exile still comes: flashback exiles each card once it resolves, so this is not an infinite well but a one-time payout on a graveyard you have spent the game filling. Cast a spell, then cast it a second time from the yard, and it is gone for good. What makes the payout matter is timing, and it cuts against type. The grant exists only during your turn, so this offers none of the reactive graveyard countermagic that instant-speed recursion usually enables: you are assembling a sorcery-speed value turn, not an interactive one. The anti-counter rider (a static shield covering both your original casts and the flashback recasts) doubles down on that posture, protecting a volume plan rather than winning a counter war. The 3/4 body asks for none of this attention; it exists to survive one extra turn so a graveyard full of card advantage becomes a graveyard full of tempo, spent all at once.

Rules text

Spells can't be countered. As long as it's your turn, each instant and sorcery card in your graveyard has flashback. The flashback cost is equal to that card's mana cost.
