A-Futurist Operative
A wall that becomes a knife whenever you want it to. Sitting untapped, this is a genuine 0/4 blocker, a body that stonewalls early aggression and asks nothing of you. Tap it, and the printed stats invert: it drops to a 1/1 that can't be blocked and switches creature type, threatening to chip away or carry an enchantment through unimpeded. The untap ability lets it flip back to defense on your terms, so the same permanent guards your life total on their turn and applies pressure on yours. The design trick is that the transformation is keyed to tap state rather than a one-way flip, which turns a static line of text into a repeatable toggle: attack for one, pay to untap, block for four, repeat. It rewards the kind of blue deck that wants to durdle behind a defensive body while still closing the game, and it plays especially well with anything that cares about attackers connecting (auras, equipment, saboteur triggers) since the unblockable clause is unconditional. The 1/1 that shows up in combat is fragile, but the 0/4 that returns is exactly the profile that survives a defensive stance, and controlling both halves with a single mana investment is the whole appeal.
